The Regional Infrastructure Fund (RIF) is the main infrastructure program of the Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund (RJIF). It aims to harness key regional strengths to improve regional Victoria’s productivity and liveability. It invests in major infrastructure projects that create or enhance the conditions for economic growth, and build diversified and sustainable regional economies that are resilient to change.
The RIF provides public grant funding for the following four program streams:
- Visitor Economy
- Productive and Liveable Cities and Centres
- Enabling Infrastructure
- Rural Development.
As well as supporting our regional city areas, to address the needs and capacity of rural communities, RIF includes the Rural Development program stream which is available to support projects in a breadth of small towns and communities in the 38 rural local government areas. Under this program stream, grants for infrastructure are capped at $500,000 and grants for project and strategic planning are capped at $50,000.
See the RIF program application guidelines and program stream information sheets for more information.
