Goulburn Valley Freight and Logistics Centre (GVFLC) - Stage 1
A $2 million Regional Infrastructure Development Fund grant is helping to develop an intermodal hub at Mooroopna.
The project is also being supported by the Commonwealth Government with a $3 million grant from (Auslink 2 ) the Nation Building Program.
The funding will go towards stage one of a six-stage project that will have two highly integrated and mutually dependant components – an intermodal terminal and a general freight area.
The centre will deliver significant benefits to national freight corridors and the large local food processing industry through streamlined supply chains. The project is forecast to boost the local economy by $55 million and create 170 jobs during the construction period alone.
