Latrobe Regional Airport - Major Airpark Development

Latrobe Airport has received several grants from the RDV's infrastructure Development Fund, one of the most recent being for $492,000 to help develop an aviation business park. Approximately 150 people are currently employed by businesses operating within the airport.

The new airpark houses aviation-compatible industries and provides direct access to the airfield and runways. It is helping expand existing businesses and establish new aviation businesses, improve passenger services and emergency responses through more efficient deployment of fire crews, firebombing aircraft and the helicopter ambulance service.

In 2008, Latrobe Regional Airport received the Australian Airports Association Award for Excellence, winning the Rural Airport of the Year category.
