Frameworks for the Future
To support the work of the Regional Strategic Planning Committees, effective state and regional level processes are being established to coordinate the development and delivery of Regional Strategic Plans across the state. This includes the provision of expert advice and support that will inform the development and ongoing management of regional plans and priorities.
A $200,000 allocation from Frameworks for the Future to the Office of the Government Architect supports a new service providing specialist advice and expertise to regional and rural councils. Provision of Government Architect advisory and advocacy services to councils for identified key projects will assist in the achievement of excellent design outcomes and promote an awareness of the importance of good design in developing sustainable cities, towns and communities.
The Government Architect works with other design experts and government agencies including Major Projects Victoria, VicUrban and the Urban Design Unit as appropriate.
