VBRRA Legacy Report

The 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission expressed a view that Victoria should review the approach it took to reconstruction and recovery following the 2009 Victorian bushfires to learn as much as possible about how to improve future recovery efforts following a major disaster.

The Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority (VBRRA) has created a Legacy Report to document the establishment, operation and closure of the organisation created to coordinate recovery following the 2009 Victorian bushfires.

The Legacy Report records the achievements of VBRRA, documents projects that demonstrate best practice and identifies lessons learned during its period of operation from February 2009 to June 2011.

The report focuses on reconstruction and recovery activities that involved the Authority.
