More free car parking04/01/2019
The Victorian Government is getting on with the delivery of free car parks across Ballarat, Traralgon and Morwell, to take the pressure off local streets and make it easier for people to get to work, education, and appointments.
Work has begun to map potential locations across Ballarat, Traralgon and Morwell for the car spaces and the Government will seek input from respective local Councils in the coming weeks.
Workshops will also be held with chambers of commerce and key community and business organisations over January to inform site selection and delivery options.
Where possible, the project will focus on the use of public land, primarily available VicTrack land or existing VicTrack car parking sites.
This investment is expected to create and support around 40 jobs for the Latrobe Valley. The projects are funded by the Government’s new $30 million Regional Car Parks Fund which Regional Development Victoria will manage.
