New public and social housing investment in Grampians Region

Wednesday, 06 July 2011

Minister for Housing Wendy Lovell has announced the locations of 50 new social and public housing properties to be allocated in the Grampians Region. The planned allocations are:

  • 29 properties for the City of Ballarat
  • 15 properties for the City of Horsham
  • three properties for Moorabool Shire Council
  • three properties for the Northern Grampians Shire

The new properties in the Grampians Region are among 1,600 to be allocated across Victoria by June 2012.

On top of these new properties, almost 100 properties will be refurbished in the Grampians Region as part of a statewide program to upgrade 1,800 properties.

"These initiatives are further evidence of the Government's commitment to Victoria's most vulnerable people," Ms Lovell said.

"These properties are being delivered by June 2012, as part of a total $528 million investment in social and public housing across Victoria."
