Latrobe Community Health Service opens in Bairnsdale
Wednesday, 18 May 2011
Latrobe Community Health Service's new Bairnsdale facility was officially opened today by the Minister for Health David Davis.
Mr Davis said the opening marked an exciting milestone in the development of community health services in the Gippsland region.
"The Victorian Coalition Government recognises the valuable contribution community health services make in providing a variety of services to communities and is committed to creating a sustainable health system where choice and transparency are paramount," Mr Davis said.
"These new premises will accommodate approximately 20 staff including counsellors, case managers, assessment staff and support staff who will be able to work in improved facilities."
Mr Davis said the facilities had been designed to accommodate major programs including aged care and assessment, counselling, Gamblers' Help and family violence programs.
This development will further improve the community's access to the range of services offered by Latrobe Community Health Services.
