Key Focus Area: ICT projects in the Hume Region
Reliable access to broadband and mobile phone coverage has been consistently identified as an issue for business, education and attraction within the region. An RDA ICT sub-committee has been formed to review the status of digital economy access and coverage and act as advocates and brokers in realising the full benefits of the National Broadband Network rollout throughout the region.
Hume RDA is currently undertaking two projects within its ICT Key Focus Area. They are:
- Digital Economy and NBN Readiness Plan for the Hume Region
- Hume Region Digital Economy Strategy Development
In November 2011, Hume RDA and the Hume Economic Development Committee developed a submission to the Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee that outlined digital economy issues and opportunities within Hume region. A copy of the submission can be downloaed below
