Digital Economy and NBN Readiness Plan for the Hume Region

In addition to the Hume Region Digital Economy Strategy, the Hume RDA has undertaken to deliver and implement a Digital Economy and NBN Readiness Plan for the Hume region.

The key purpose of the plan will be to assist in building awareness and capacity to ensure the Hume region is well positioned to benefit from the digital economy and NBN. The project will:

  • Consult with key stakeholders
  • Develop tools to use to build awareness and education around improving the region’s readiness for broadband and the digital economy
  • Deliver a range of awareness raising and education activities to position Hume to best benefit from the digital economy and NBN

Extensive stakeholder engagement will be undertaken as part of the project to identify readiness, barriers and opportunities for the emerging digital economy to improve delivery of:

  • Health and education outcomes
  • Growth in local economies
  • Business efficiencies and opportunities
  • Government services and programs, including local government services.

The project is due to commence in March 2012 and will be completed prior to 30 June 2012.
