Murray Region Tourism Product Gap Analysis and Tourism Development Plan

Hume RDA is partnering with Murray River Region Tourism Ltd, Loddon Mallee RDA and Murray RDA to deliver the Murray Region Tourism Product Gap Analysis and Tourism Development Plan. This project will deliver a market- focused analysis of the Murray Region’s tourism product offer, to enable the identification and prioritisation of investment opportunities in tourism facilities, products and services to grow visitation to the region. The project will cover an array of tourism product offerings, but will have a particular focus on nature based tourism.

The development of a detailed plan for the region will provide Murray River Tourism Board (MRTBLtd) and key stakeholders with a clear direction for the future development of tourism within the region. The plan will clearly identify product gaps and potential developments to assist local, state and federal governments in assessing opportunities into the future. In addition, the plan will identify planning and regulatory issues requiring immediate attention to allow projects to proceed.

The Murray Region Tourism Product Gap Analysis and Tourism Development Plan is due for completion by June 2012.
