National Broadband Network Roll-out
The roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN) has been identified as a priority in the Northern and Southern Loddon Mallee Regional Strategic Plans.
The NBN aims to transform Australia into one of the world’s leading digital economies by providing affordable, high-speed internet access across 93 per cent of the country. Economic modeling has shown regional areas to benefit more than metropolitan areas from increased internet connectivity through the NBN. On average, a 10 per cent increase in connectivity is predicted to raise regional output by 0.53 per cent compared with 0.38 per cent in metropolitan areas.
For more information on the National Broadband Network visit the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.
