Loddon Mallee Regional Strategic Plans
The Loddon Mallee Region
The Northern and Southern Loddon Mallee Regional Strategic Plans were launched in September 2010. The Plans identify the region’s most important issues and presents a framework for federal, state and local governments, communities and industry to work together as a region to maximise opportunities and manage future growth.
Regional Development Australia’s Loddon Mallee Committee released the first Progress Report for Northern and Southern Loddon Mallee Regional Strategic Plans in August 2011.
Real progress has been made to many Strategic Directions. Highlights include the State Government’s commitment to implementing the Regional Plans with the launch of the $1 billion Regional Growth Fund. There is also strong commitment on natural gas connections to some of the regions smaller towns and major infrastructure projects such as hospitals and airports.
The second Northern and Southern Loddon Mallee Regional Strategic Plans Progress reports July 2011 to February 2012 were released in April 2012.
The reports describe and celebrate the recent progress made on many major regional initiatives – developing our five transformative regional change strategies; successfully advocating for the National Broadband Network rollout; responding to the Murray Darling Basin Plan; developing our regional cities Bendigo and Mildura, and responding to the unique advantages of our River and Goldfields heritage areas.
These are just some of the activities within the Plans broad agenda that are set to transform the liveability and opportunities within this region.
