Regional Planning

Our Vision

Our vision is that Melbourne’s East will be Australia’s most desirable urban region; a significant hub for Asia Pacific’s education, innovation and knowledge industries; and Australia’s best connected region.

Strategic Priorities

Over the next three years, Melbourne East RDA Committee will build on realising this vision with a focus on these key priorities

Creating Employment

Through collaborations with industry to support and address their needs, increase exports and attract new investment to the region, we will continue to strive for significant long-term growth in the region.

Connecting Education, Research and Innovation

Supporting the tertiary education, research and innovation strength in the region by connecting industry and businesses to research and innovation institutions to improve access to resources, research and skills so that businesses can reach their full potential.

Healthy Communities

Maintaining healthy communities by connecting people over 55 years with new generations by sharing their experience, knowledge and skills to add value to the community.

Transport solutions

Addressing integrated transport needs by working with partners and stakeholders to map transport issues and deliver immediate and long-term transport solutions that are essential for improved prosperity, quality of life, employment and growth.

A regional voice

Major employers in the region play an important role in maintaining prosperity in Melbourne’s East. Ensuring that they have a united voice, which is heard and endorsed by key stakeholders, is vital to ensuring they influence policy making to facilitate growth and sustainability.
