Building Australia's Future Workforce (BAFW) Package

The BAFW featured in the 2010-11 budget, and was designed to build an educated and skilled workforce and provide opportunities for all Australians to experience the benefits of work. The BAFW package has three interrelated streams: Skills, Workforce Participation and Place-Based.

Incorporating Hume region, a Business Engagement Study is underway as part of the BAFW package. This study is seeking to gain an understanding of employer and industry views of workforce planning issues. It is also seeking to gather the views of businesses of different size, from a range of industries, and in a variety of locations.

The study is an important opportunity for businesses and other stakeholders to offer their perspectives about workforce development issues. This can encompass a broad range of topics, including but not limited to recruitment, training, apprenticeships, your views of existing government programs, skill shortages and workforce planning.
