RDAF Rounds 3 & 4 Closing Soon

Tuesday 4 December 2012

Expression of Interests for Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF) Rounds Three and Four close at 5pm on Thursday 6 December 2012.

  • Round Three will provide a total of $50 million for priority infrastructure projects in small towns. Grants of between $50,000 and $500,000 are available for projects in towns with a population of 30,000 people or less. Local governments and not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of at least $500,000 are eligible to apply for this round. Other organisations may participate in the program as a member of a consortium led by an eligible applicant.
  • Round Four will provide a total of $175 million for infrastructure projects that address the identified priorities of RDA Committees and have a strong regional impact. Grants of between $500,000 and $15 million are available to local governments and not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of at least $1 million. Other organisations may participate in the program as a member of a consortium led by an eligible applicant.

Community feedback has resulted in a number of improvements to the guidelines, making it easier to apply and broadening the scope of projects which can be supported by RDAF.

RDA Committees will again review EOIs from all potential applicants and select five priority projects for Round Three and three priority projects for Round Four to proceed to full application.

In prioritising projects, Minister Crean has asked RDA Committees to take into account regional priorities, the level of community support for the project, the impact of the project on the region and neighbouring regions, and its readiness to proceed.
