Regional Policy Advisory Committee

The Regional Policy Advisory Committee (RPAC) is established under the amended Regional Development Victoria Act 2002, and performs an advisory role to the Minister for Regional and Rural Development. The Act provides for the Minister for Regional and Rural Development to appoint up to eight members and a chair, with the majority of the members being from regional and rural Victoria.

The functions of the RPAC include providing advice to the Minister for Regional and Rural Development on economic infrastructure projects and priorities in regional Victoria, and receiving advice from Regional Development Victoria regarding economic infrastructure projects and priorities.

RPAC will also advise the Minister generally on matters relating to the economic and community development of regional and rural Victoria, including advice on the regional and rural implications of relevant legislation and on other matters referred to the committee by the Minister.
