Northern Poultry Cluster
Funding: Living Regions Living Suburbs - $50,000; Food Innovation for a Regional Sustainable Tomorrow (FIRST)/Poultry Anytime - $50,000
The Northern Poultry Cluster (NPC) includes more than 40 businesses, supports about 2000 jobs and generates more than $300 million into the regional economy. It received funding to complete a number of projects which evolved into larger longer-term projects for the cluster.
The long-term projects include work in the areas of:
- bio-energy
- planning opportunities
- alternative litter
- shedding and systems
- stockfeed partnerships
- value added products
The projects aim to produce new products, systems and technology in the energy, stock feed, planning and engineering sectors.
