Sage Technology

Sage SURPASS mobile phoneSage Technology is the only developer of electronic Permit to Work and Integrated Safe Systems of Work software in Australia. Sage also provides software development and support services to commercial and industrial businesses worldwide.

The company has played a key role in a major safety project at Woodside Energy, developing a web-based software system, SageSURPASS, which enabled the oil and gas company to implement its Integrated Safe System of Work (ISSoW). SageSURPASS integrates risk assessment, isolation management and permit to work into a single solution that helps to ensure that all work in industries such as oil and gas, mining and minerals production, power generation and manufacturing, is planned, communicated, controlled and carried out in a safe manner.

With funding from Regional Development Victoria, Sage Technology has completed its export market plan and undertaken research and development into new system functionality which has significantly improved SageSURPASS’s position in the global marketplace. The new functionality included seamless integration into core enterprise asset management applications, graphic plotting of the locations of work parties, and a multi-lingual engine to enable the software to be used in other languages.

Based in Morwell, Sage Technology now has an increasingly strong foothold in the minerals-rich regions of Western Australia.

RDV funding also enabled Sage Technology to represent Australia in the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards where SageSURPASS was successful in the Innovation in Industrial Applications category.

RDV’s support will contribute to retaining and increasing the number of skilled jobs in the Latrobe Valley and developing regional resilience during the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Sage Technology Director Peter Kingwill said the company was marketing SageSURPASS to the oil and gas industry, mining and minerals production, and other industries.

“We have a strong record in the delivery of safe work systems and we will be extending that record with other products that are currently under development,” Mr Kingwill said.
