Regional Assemblies 2018 – Listening and Delivering
28/03/2018This week, the Minister for Regional Development announced the 2018 Regional Assemblies will be held from early May to mid-July.
The first Assembly will be in Kyneton in the Loddon Campaspe region on Thursday 3 May.
Over the following months, communities from Gippsland in the east to Great South Coast in the west, will get the chance to sit down with their Partnerships, to hear what has been achieved and delivered to date, and to then explore some of the Partnerships’ identified priorities, and the responses to them, in greater detail.
It will be a chance to help the Partnerships further refine and validate their priorities.
At Kyneton, there will be detailed discussions around the key priorities of:
- youth;
- early years;
- tracks, trails and the visitor economy;
- health and
- the economy.
Over the past 18 months, the Loddon Campaspe Regional Partnership has made a significant impact. As well as seeing its voice – and that of others – lead to a $45 million boost for digital initiatives across the state and a $91 million upgrade to the Bendigo and Echuca rail lines, locally, the Partnership has been bringing people together, and has led initiatives to develop a tracks and trails strategy for the region and to build a business case for further investment in community health in Loddon Campaspe.
