Bendigo Low Line

We’ve provided $5 million to help the City of Greater Bendigo deliver the Bendigo Low Line project through our Council Support Package.

This funding will support the delivery of nearly 3km of the planned 4.4km walking and cycling shared pathway, which will fill a key missing section of the Bendigo Creek Trail, making it easier than ever for people to access the city centre.

Once complete, the Low Line will travel along the Bendigo Creek, passing between Maple Street, Golden Square and Lake Weeroona, creating a key transport corridor for the 95,000 people who live within a 5km radius of the creek.

The Bendigo Low Line will feature:

  • 14 entry and exit points (9 new and 5 existing) connecting to surrounding streets and footpaths
  • landscaped public spaces, with seating at select entry and exit points
  • lighting
  • wayfinding and safety signage
  • retaining walls and drainage to protect against the elements.

This means locals and visitors will have better access to all of the best venues and events that Bendigo has to offer, boosting community wellbeing and driving economic growth.

Works will be undertaken in sections, with the trail set to be completed in 2026.

It’s part of our commitment to making Bendigo an even better place to live, work, stay and play.
