We’ve backed the City of Greater Geelong to upgrade the much-loved John Landy Athletics Field, through $5 million from our Council Support Package.
Works will create a new pavilion that will house:
- a competition office
- athlete change rooms
- a canteen and kiosk
- social and meeting rooms
- a uniform store
- accessible public toilets.
Once complete, the pavilion will support greater collaboration between tenant clubs, offer elite development pathways for athletes and strengthen Geelong’s position as a premier destination for regional athletics.
The benefits will also extend to schools and community groups, who will have an opportunity to hire the facilities for functions and events. This will also support economic benefits for clubs and support the overall development of athletics in Geelong.
