Boosting resilience in Gippsland’s supply chain

We’re helping the Latrobe Valley diversify and strengthen its economy by investing in businesses affected by the transition from native timber harvesting and white paper manufacturing.

The funding will support 6 local businesses, including:

Fisher’s Pallets
Willaton Transport
Onsite Machining & Pipeline Services Australia
Traralgon Industries
Southern Metal Works
ANC Forestry.

Through our Gippsland Supply Chain Resilience Program, these businesses are being supported to grow, improve productivity and unlock new market opportunities.

This is helping them to invest in new equipment, software upgrades and accreditations, and business and marketing plans.

Fisher’s Pallets has purchased an EzyPallet Machine that will make the manufacturing of pallets, for storage and logistics, faster and safer. The company will also increase its factory space, setting the stage for a boost in manufacturing output.

The grant will also fund the development of marketing and business strategies to help the company break into new sectors and expand its customer base.

‘The new manufacturing equipment, infrastructure and marketing assistance will enable Fisher’s Pallets to attract new customers - and maintain existing customers - by enhancing our operational efficiencies,’ said Fisher’s Pallets Director Catherine Fisher.

‘This, in addition to our comprehensive marketing strategy, will enable us to grow our business and maintain our workforce of local employees.’

Funding for these companies is about developing flexible, future-ready supply chains that will help the Latrobe Valley respond to industrial changes and secure emerging opportunities.

Support for these businesses builds on the Victorian Government’s $2 billion investment into the region’s economic transition.

This investment has been delivered to provide support for businesses, industry, communities, and major infrastructure projects to drive growth and prosperity in the region.
