Gippsland manufacturer to raise more roofs
07/08/2026Victorian builders and future homeowners will benefit from accelerated construction times, thanks to upgrades at Drouin West Timber and Truss.
Supported by the regional stream of the Victorian Investment Fund, the upgrades will increase productivity and create more local jobs.
Drouin West Timber and Truss specialise in Modern Method of Construction techniques, through the manufacturing and installation of panel building systems.
These include:
- wall and floor panels
- roof and floor trusses
- wall frames
- associated timber products.
Our support will help the company install robotic production equipment and software that will more than double the number of building kits it manufactures annually by 2030.
It will also create six new roles at the site and position the 46-year-old company to take advantage of future growth opportunities.
Once complete, these works will make it easier for builders to access quality building kits, supporting an increase in housing construction and strengthening the local supply chain.
That’s good news for future homeowners, local businesses and builders in the construction sector, and economic activity for the area.
The Victorian Investment Fund is fast-tracking strategic, high-value investments across the state, particularly those in:
- advanced manufacturing and defence
- health technologies and medical research
- circular economy
- digital technologies
- agribusiness.
A dedicated $50 million regional stream is supporting fast-growing regional businesses to enhance economic development, generating capital investment and creating new jobs in regional cities and towns.
The Victorian Government has previously announced this funding support for major upgrades at Tongala Nutrition’s dairy processing facility in northern Victoria, installation of new equipment and systems at Springhill Farm, and the establishment of George Weston Foods’ new flour mill in Ballarat.
