Health and jobs in Macedon Ranges

16/09/2025

Treatment for drug and alcohol addiction has received a major boost following the completion of new facilities at Arrow Health’s clinic in Woodend.

Supported by a $600,000 investment from Regional Development Victoria, the new facilities include a rehabilitation cottage and improved ambulance access, while existing beds are also being upgraded.

The expansion will see a doubling of the clinic’s in-patient care to around 240 patients, with out-patient care rising from 80 to approximately 180 patients each year.

More than 50 jobs have also been created in the $2.1 million expansion, supporting a local jobs market in which healthcare is the largest segment. The jobs include doctors, nurses, therapists and facilities-support staff.

There’ll be more locally contracted allied health professionals too, such as nutritionists and physical therapists, and increased business for local services such as in food, transport and maintenance.

Arrow Health Private Hospital was founded in 2014 and provides in-house care and treatment for patients experiencing addiction, out-patient follow-up care and treatment, and support and counselling for families.

Our support of the company’s expansion is part of a record $47 billion invested by the Victorian Government in just over a decade towards projects that are making regional cities and towns even better places to live, work, stay, experience, invest and study.
