Healthy boost of worker housing for Timboon

19/08/2026

Healthcare workers at Timboon and District Healthcare Service will soon have more secure and affordable housing options closer to work.

Construction is underway on 3 new units near the hospital, supporting doctors, nurses and other staff to live locally.

Local contractor BDH Constructions is building the units, delivering economic benefits for the local community during construction and after the homes are complete.

Timboon and District Healthcare Service supports the health and wellbeing of about 8,000 residents across Timboon and nearby Great Ocean Road communities.

The project is funded through our Regional Worker Accommodation Fund, which supports more housing for key workers in regional Victoria.

It supports projects that enable regional employers to attract and retain workers by increasing access to local accommodation.

Similar accommodation projects for healthcare workers are being delivered across the state, including in Wonthaggi, Bairnsdale and Benalla.

The Regional Worker Accommodation Fund has activated more than $300 million in private investment to build accommodation that supports communities, regional employers, industries and thousands of workers.
