Helping healthy snacks and jobs spring forward

03/08/2026

More jobs are on the way to Ballarat, and more healthy snacks hitting production, thanks to upcoming upgrades at Springhill Farm’s Delacombe factory.

We’re helping the business to expand through a grant from the regional stream of the Victorian Investment Fund.

The funding will help the business to install new machinery and equipment on site, doubling productivity, improving safety, and upgrading its distribution and packing systems.

These upgrades will secure the family-owned business’s existing 88 jobs, add another 32 positions for local workers, and increase output to 50 million snacks per year by the end of 2027.

The project will also position Springhill Farm to secure future growth opportunities and increase its share of a competitive and in-demand market.

The Victorian Government’s $150 million Victorian Investment Fund is supporting domestic and international investors to secure business investment that creates jobs, promotes innovation, and underpins economic growth in priority sectors.

A dedicated $50 million regional stream of this fund is backing fast growing businesses to enhance economic development, generating capital investment and new jobs in regional cities and towns.

Ballarat is fast emerging as a manufacturing powerhouse in Victoria, boasting an industry growth rate that’s outpacing other regional and metropolitan averages.

Our investment in Springhill Farm is part of our ongoing commitment to drive growth and prosperity in the city and support home-grown businesses to level up.

It’s just one of the ways we’re making regional Victoria an even better place to live, work and invest.
