Housing for hospital staff put straight to use

28/11/2025

We’ve helped to secure a win for local healthcare workers in Kyabram, with new accommodation now being put to good use by Kyabram and District Health Services.

The accommodation helps meet an immediate need for the hospital – with the units already allocated to staff and visiting health professionals, including interstate and overseas recruits.

Delivered by local builders Timberline Constructions, the units will support the health service, which has been delivering healthcare to the local community for more than 90 years.

“The completion of these accommodation units represents a significant step in strengthening our workforce capability,” said Kyabram and District Health Service CEO Anne McEvoy.

“Providing appropriate, reliable housing for visiting and short-term staff and visiting medical officers directly supports our capacity to maintain essential health services for the Kyabram and district community.”

The accommodation was delivered as part of our Regional Worker Accommodation Fund, which helps key employers in regional locations to attract and retain key staff.

The fund supports the delivery of housing, accommodation, and related infrastructure across rural and regional local government areas. Through its investments, the fund is helping stimulate economic growth and is supporting regional communities to thrive.

Dozens of similar projects are underway across regional Victoria, including at nearby Shepparton, Kerang and Benalla.
