More cookies, more jobs in Donald
19/10/2026There’s more Kooka’s Country Cookies heading to supermarket shelves after the company opened a new factory in Donald.
We supported the creation of the factory, which features state-of-the-art equipment and new technology.
With 11 new staff also added, the upgrades will allow Kooka’s to nearly double its production output.
The company can now create a new gluten-free range of its much-loved cookies. This means opportunities to explore new markets.
“Kooka’s is proud to be manufacturing in the regional town of Donald," said Kooka’s Country Cookies Director Kelvin Clark.”
“Our new facility continues the tradition of welcoming our visitors.”

Established in 1991, Kooka’s is a locally owned company and a regional manufacturing success story that is considered 'the taste of Country Australia'.
It has grown from humble beginnings to now employ more than 30 people, selling its products to supermarkets, motels and food distributors across Australia.
The company’s growth provides flow-on benefits for the local supply chain. It generates new business for raw material producers, such as flour and milk, and engineering, maintenance, logistics, and transport providers.

With a population of just over 1,000 people, Donald also benefits from the newly created positions at the company, which is already a key local employer.
“It’s been a while in the making, but we are proud of our new facility along with our existing and new workers who keep the cookies rolling,” added Kelvin.
“Come and check out the Big Kookaburra out the front of the new facility, come in and say g’day.”
