A locally developed pathology blood test technology is generating more jobs in Geelong and fostering global interest thanks to a Victorian Government investment.

The software has been developed at HealthRFID’s Breakwater headquarters with 7 jobs created to deliver the innovative pathology tracking software.

New jobs created include a software developer, hardware engineer, business analyst, marketing and business development roles.

BloodControl uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to track blood tests, which is enabling faster and more reliable results for patients. The software has been used by regional hospitals in Victoria.

It has also received commercial interest from the US and Middle East, including its use in forensic, anatomy and crime labs.

This is one of many projects cementing Geelong’s role in health technologies and advanced manufacturing.

The project is part of the Government’s commitment to funding projects that support jobs and business growth in regional Victoria. Regional hubs like Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo are enjoying low unemployment at under 4%.

Regional Development Victoria is boosting local economies with a range of investment attraction initiatives for businesses like HealthRFID.
