More worker accommodation for regional Victoria
11/08/2025From Wangaratta to Warrnambool, we're supporting worker housing across regional Victoria as part of the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund.
Round 2 of the fund is supporting more new projects across the state. It will provide more affordable housing options for workers closer to the places they work.
The projects in Round 2 will support more than $120 million in public and private investment in new worker housing. This investment will deliver more than 750 bedrooms for workers across regional Victoria.
Each project will provide more stable workforces for businesses and industries across major industries.
This includes the health, agriculture, tourism, hospitality and manufacturing industries to help regional Victoria thrive.
There are now more than 40 projects are being supported by the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund to build housing for thousands more regional workers.
As part of round 2, Midfield Meats in Warrnambool will construct housing for up to 300 meat processing workers.
Nestd Developments in Wangaratta is transforming a former high school into a healthcare worker hub. The hub will house more than 100 local healthcare workers.
Dozens of projects are already underway as part of Round 1 of the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund.
This includes worker housing in Irymple that was recently completed to support workers in healthcare, education and law enforcement.
