New car park to drive economic growth in Traralgon
06/07/2026We’ve helped make it easier to access shops, restaurants and other service providers in the Traralgon CBD, thanks to a new five-storey car park on Kay Street.
Made possible by an investment from our Regional Car Parks Fund, the structure offers 442 new free car spaces for locals and visitors.
Adding to the 154 spaces previously available at the site, the new spaces will help ease traffic congestion while making it easier for people to visit local traders – boosting the local economy by increasing foot traffic in the area.
The new Kay Street car park is part of our commitment to deliver 900 new car spaces across the Latrobe Valley.
5 new parking areas are now open across Latrobe City, including at:
- George Street, Moe
- Commercial Road West, Morwell
- Princes Drive East and Princes Drive West, Morwell
- Seymour Street, Traralgon.
Construction of another car park at Commercial Road in Morwell will start later this year, which is the final project for delivery in Latrobe City through the car parks fund.
Parking locations delivered under the Regional Car Parks Fund were chosen for their proximity to key activity centres and public transport networks and were informed by community engagement and feasibility studies.
The car spaces have also been designed to align with current and future parking demand across Latrobe City.
Our support for parking across Latrobe is part of our ongoing work to make regional Victoria an even better place to live, work, stay, experience, invest and study.
