Robinvale Play Precinct swings into action
09/09/2025Young people and families have a new space for play, socialising and learning more about Robinvale’s traditional culture, thanks to the completion of an expansive play precinct.
We backed the creation of this fantastic new community asset with a grant of nearly $1 million, which was combined with $500,000 from the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
Named 'Ngiwa Kulaithi', which means ‘to sit river’ in the Latji Latji language, the precinct offers kids and families access to 5,000 square metres of play space, including a skate park and nature-play zones that are suitable for all ages and abilities.
The precinct features artwork by local First Nations artists Mariah Dunrobin and Stephanie Lingwoodock that celebrates the area’s Aboriginal cultural heritage and creates a sense of place and Country.
This vast new outdoor play area is set to draw more visitors to Robinvale, offering a new attraction for residents and a destination for travellers in northwest Victoria.
The project continues Victorian Government investment in the area, with other initiatives including our Seasonal Workforce Accommodation Program and the creation of key worker housing in Robinvale through the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund.
Construction of the play precinct supported 26 jobs, with a further two ongoing roles to be supported through maintenance.
Funding for Ngiwa Kulaithi forms part of our record support of more than $47 billion for rural and regional Victoria in just over a decade.
Our investments mean more locals have jobs close to home, and regional economies are supported to thrive. It’s part of our commitment to making Robinvale an even better place to live, work, stay, experience, invest and study.
