Upgrades on the way at Portland Foreshore
05/10/2026
Construction is underway to upgrade the Portland Angling Club and works at the Portland Yacht Club will soon start, providing better facilities for locals and visitors.
The refreshed buildings will support:
- fishing
- boating
- sailing events
- community activities.
They will also help grow the regional economy by ensuring fishing and angling community assets remain on the foreshore for years to come.
The Portland Angling Club will have an upgraded meeting and events space with improved access for people of all abilities. This will help maintain the facility as an important part of the foreshore for years to come.
Across the road, the Portland Yacht Club will receive a makeover inside the building, new offices and better access from the boatyard and Town Jetty car park.
The upgrades will help the club host more boating events and activities to keep locals connected and encourage visitors to come to Portland.
Portland is one of Australia’s leading coastal destinations. It is popular for boating, fishing and tourism. Both projects will make the foreshore more welcoming and attractive.
The renovations build on earlier improvements to Portland’s foreshore. These include the Kardermudelar Kar-weeyn Mirring dance space (Portland Bay Dance Ground), paths, lighting and amenities.
These projects build on our investments made possible by the Portland Diversification Fund to generate more economic growth.
