World cycling to put rubber to (gravel) road in Seymour
05/06/2026We’re bringing ‘Gravelista’, a world series gravel cycling event back to Seymour and the Goulburn Valley for another two years, supported by new funding that will boost visitor numbers, local spending and deliver lasting economic benefits.

Set to attract hundreds of visitors, Gravelista will keep Seymour on the world gravel cycling stage and give a boost to traders and communities that continue to recover from the 2026 summer bushfires.
Gravelista and destination partner Go Seymour are already working to draw Australian and international visitors to this year’s event on Sunday 25 October.
It will serve as an official qualifying round for the 2027 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Gravel World Championships in France’s Haute-Savoie region.
Starting and finishing at the Seymour Racecourse, Gravelista offers elite and amateur riders a chance to tackle some of Australia’s finest and fastest gravel roads as they pass through the diverse terrain of the Goulburn Valley.
Gravel riding is the fastest growing segment of cycling, and with its mix of flat accessible trails and picturesque ranges, the Goulburn Valley is an ideal place to service this growing demand.

By funding two more years of the event, we are ensuring that Seymour is established as a globally recognised destination for cycling, and a must-see for visitors from all over the world.
Support for Gravelista is part of our strong investment in regional cycling, including $800,000 from the Victorian Budget 2026/27 for the Ride High Country Marketing Phase 2 project to support longer term tourism in the region.
This builds on $3.5 million provided to the Ride High Country Fund to help businesses expand services for cyclists.
We also helped to attract 177,000 cyclists and generate $257 million in visitor spending across the High Country in the year to June 2024.
These investments are part of our ongoing work to make regional Victoria an even better place to live, work and experience.
