More worker accommodation in Warrnambool

13/08/2026

Works are underway to deliver Midfield Meat International’s new staff accommodation facility in Warrnambool, which will support up to 300 meat-processing workers.

The project will deliver village-style accommodation space next to the company’s meat processing facility.

It will give more workers access to affordable housing near their workplace.

The project will feature:

  • Single and double-bedroom units
  • A kitchen
  • Meals area
  • Laundry area
  • Outdoor area

Midfield Meat International is one of the largest private sector businesses in regional Victoria and employs 1,100 workers.

The business processes Australian beef, lamb and veal for domestic and international markets.

Meat products are Victoria’s largest food and fibre export category, generating $8.2 billion in exports in 2023-24.

This project will help maintain a steady supply of meat products by supporting more regional worker accommodation for businesses that need it most.

It's made possible by the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund.
