The Cross Border Commissioner meets with people along our state’s borders, from Mildura to Corryong, Portland to Mallacoota, to understand the issues faced by those living and working in cross border communities.
Every border issue or opportunity raised is reported to Minister for Regional Development, relevant Victorian and interstate government departments or agencies, and to relevant Ministers.
The Cross Border Commissioner plays an active role in helping departments and agencies understand the issue and how it is impacting on border residents and businesses, and in looking for solutions.
If you know of a border anomaly, raise it with the Cross Border Commissioner. No matter how big or small, or even if you think others have raised it already, he'd like to hear from you.
Ideas that seem fine in Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide don’t always make sense at the border.
If you would like to meet with the Commissioner, or you would like the Commissioner to attend a meeting or event of your business or community group, please contact us.
You can view the Commissioner’s schedule of upcoming visits to border communities here.
