New digital innovation series shines light on Ovens Murray Entrepreneurs

What do regional students travelling the world with robots, a company launching world class garments from a Benalla farm, and a business controlling Gold Coast transport services from Wangaratta have in common?

All three have used digital innovation to facilitate businesses, entrepreneurial collaborations or learning opportunities in the Ovens Murray region, and each is featured in a new video series.

Ovens Murray Regional Partnership (OMRP) Chair Irene Grant said the eight video and written case studies showcase the tremendous opportunities for successful digital innovation in the region.

“People’s innovation journeys are amazing. These case studies unearth incredible national and international success stories in our region, many of which are not widely known,” she said. “They also highlight how people choose to live here for the lifestyle appeal and continue to develop their tech interests and businesses from our region.”

“Supporting digital innovation is one of our Regional Partnership’s top priorities and these case studies show just why.”

OMRP digital portfolio lead Susan Benedyka added that the stories are inspiring, demonstrating both what is possible and what has already been achieved.

“Many of the people whose stories we feature have used technology to develop new solutions to modern problems, like the transport logistics app and ECG heart monitoring software. Others are connecting local communities and businesses with the world,” Ms Benedyka said.

“We’re also excited about the examples of learning opportunities for young people and the community collaborations that are delivering benefits beyond their initial intent. Digital technology really does offer a wealth of opportunities and it’s great that people in this region are taking on new challenges and sharing their knowledge.”

The video and case studies series is available on the OMRP’s website and is being rolled out through its Facebook page.
