New shared trails to connect towns in Macedon Ranges

Macedon Trail site

The Victorian Government has shovels in the ground in the Macedon Ranges with works on the Macedon Ranges Shared Trails underway, boosting local economies and making our towns better places to live, work, invest and visit.

The Victorian Government is investing $8.75 million to develop enjoyable and safe shared-use trail links, connecting major towns in the Macedon Ranges region. The project is part of the Building Works package – a $2.7 billion commitment to get thousands of Victorians back to work with shovel-ready projects that provide lasting benefits to communities.

The project will connect Woodend, Macedon, New Gisborne and Riddells Creek via a shared use trail. The works are expected to create up to 16 jobs during construction and will provide a longer-term boost to the economy through increased tourism.

More information about the shared trails can be found on the Macedon Ranges Shire Council website.
