RDA Western Melbourne
Western Melbourne is Victoria’s gateway – the state’s major port, key airports, main roads and railways all are located in or adjoining this region. It is the first and major place where the state’s migrants settle. And it is one of Australia’s premier growth zones, predicted to accommodate more than 40 per cent of Melbourne’s metropolitan population growth over the next 40 years.
The Western Melbourne Regional Development Australia (WMRDA) Committee builds partnerships between all levels of government, local businesses, community groups and key regional stakeholders to provide strategic and targeted responses to economic, environmental and social issues affecting Melbourne’s West.
Western Melbourne covers the local government areas of Brimbank, Maribyrnong, Melton, Moonee Valley, Hobsons Bay and Wyndham.
WMRDA’s vision is: ‘Melbourne’s West: leading growth and opportunity’
