Geelong manufacturer clinches contract to produce three million face masks24/07/2020
In an outstanding win for the regional medtech and pharma industry, North Geelong company Care Essentials has secured a Victorian Government contract to supply three million high quality single-use face masks for the community and healthcare workers right across the state during the pandemic.
Facilitated with the help of the government’s Industry Participation and Advanced Manufacturing team, the contract will see the company’s 10-person operation expand to 40 to process the order.
The Victorian Government has called for 23 million single-use masks to be distributed and the Care Essentials contract is the largest locally-produced order.
Established in 1996, Care Essentials has a history of entrepreneurship and innovation recognised throughout the world. It exports healthcare products to about 50 countries, including the US, the UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand and Canada and in 2019, it took out the Regional Exporter Award at the Australian Export Awards.
