True Foods right at home in regional Victoria17/12/2019
Trusted flat bread manufacturer True Foods continues to thrive in a highly competitive market right here in regional Victoria.
Specialising in the manufacturing of flat bread style products, including wraps and naan bread, True Foods has become one of Australia’s leading producers of wraps for the retail and food service markets, all from their national headquarters in Maryborough.
True Foods made the move to regional Victoria in 2011 thanks to Victorian Government funding through the Victorian Business Food Recovery Fund and has quickly grown to employ 180 full time equivalent staff, making them the largest private employer in the Central Goldfields Shire.
The Government has provided True Foods with ongoing assistance since their move as they embarked on several important projects to ensure they continue to prosper.
In 2012 they received a $100,000 grant under the Putting Locals First Program – Economic Development and Job Creation Stream to expand their operations into new products.
In 2018, financial assistance from the Victorian Government helped True Foods install ground and roof-mounted solar panels which helped cut their energy consumption by 32 per cent, leading to savings on energy costs.
This year, True Foods was awarded a voucher under the third round of the Government’s Boost Your Business – Food Innovation Voucher program to further grow the company’s product range and to help reduce waste.
These projects have helped True Foods grow and stay competitive and the organisation has quickly become an integral part of Loddon Mallee’s economic prosperity, with a vast supply chain benefiting businesses throughout the entire region.
True Foods represents the benefits of organisations operating in regional Victoria and the Victorian Government is committed to increasing jobs and boosting businesses across the Loddon Mallee and throughout regional Victoria.
