The Stronger Regional Communities Plan aims to support rural and regional towns in attracting families and young people to live and work.

  • Local Government Authorities
  • Government agencies

Latrobe Valley Supply Chain Transition

The Latrobe Valley Supply Chain Transition Program (LVSCTP) is a fund of up to $5 million that will provide intensive tailored support to businesses in the Latrobe Valley supply chain to guide them through the transition period as Hazelwood Power Station and Mine and Carter Holt Harvey Saw Mill close.
Who is this for:

Supply chain companies must meet all the following criteria to be eligible for assistance under the Latrobe Valley Supply Chain Transition Program:

  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Be incorporated in Victoria
  • Have been trading continuously for the past four years
  • Be a Victorian based business, with at least 20 per cent of revenue1 derived from a significant Latrobe Valley based company facing closure and their supply chain
  • Be based in Latrobe Valley (Latrobe, Wellington, Baw Baw) Only firms currently located in the Latrobe Valley area are eligible to apply

Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation

The Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation Fund is a $10 million fund established as the first initiative under the $40 million Latrobe Valley Economic Development Program.
Who is this for:

Applications will be considered primarily from:

  • private sector businesses and agencies
  • small and medium sized enterprises
    • small businesses
      (employing less than 20 people)
    • medium enterprises
      (with 20-199 employees).

Where proposals demonstrably meet the objectives of the fund to support private sector investment and growth, applications can also be considered from the following types of bodies, including in sponsoring partnership or group proposals:

  • business and industry groups including,
    • chambers of commerce and business associations’
    • industry peak bodies’
    • business and industry clusters and networks;
  • local government authorities;
  • not-for-profit organisations and community groups that;
    • are an incorporated body, cooperative or association
    • have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or can provide written advice from the Australian Tax Office that no withholding tax is required from the grant payment;
    • higher education and private training institutions;
    • regional organisations e.g. regional planning alliances.

Ride High Country Fund Round Two

The Ride High Country Fund Round Two aims to assist growth and realise the potential of North East Victoria’s High Country cycle offering to strengthen the local economy through increased visitors.

The Fund has been established to provide flexible support for regional economic recovery, stimulating socio-economic growth and recovery, by investing in projects and innovative ideas that address regional needs, priorities addressing those immediate and persisting challenges, and opportunities (place-based needs).

Eligible projects include those that identification, development and delivery of recovery priorities that align with recovery planning activities developed by regions and informed by community engagement.

Projects that stimulate socio-economic growth and recovery, address regional needs, support locally led approaches to identify the most appropriate actions (e.g. planning activities), implement priorities addressing those immediate and persisting challenges, and investment/development opportunities.
