Local grants supporting our regions to thrive

11/07/2022

Applications are now open for the Victorian Government’s Living Local Fund, supporting locals and visitors in regional Victoria to experience new and better infrastructure that helps them come together as a community.

The $20 million fund is now open for applications in regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. The Fund is supporting a wide range of potential projects from upgraded halls to art installations and community gardens.

The Living Local Fund is part of the Government’s Our Regions: Living Local Initiative and is geared to ensure local towns will have the infrastructure they need to continue to thrive.

Thanks to the funding, local councils and community organisations can apply for grants up to $200,000 for infrastructure projects. Smaller investments of up to $20,000 will be available for minor upgrades and maintenance to facilities, helping ensure they are accessible for years to come.

Grants will also give organisations the opportunity to buy new equipment such as kitchen appliances, technology such as laptops and audio-visual equipment to reach a wider range of locals and unlock new capabilities for organisations.

The Living Local Fund grant applications are now open and close on Friday, 12 August 2022 for suburban and regional Victoria.

The Fund is part of the Victorian Government’s record investment of more than $36 billion in regional and rural Victoria since 2015 and continues the work of Suburban Revitalisation Boards and Metropolitan Partnerships to support community infrastructure investment across Melbourne’s suburbs.
