Portland North Employment Precinct

The Portland North Employment Precinct covers approximately 15 hectares of land situated in a broader 441-hectare industrial zone on the northern boundary of Portland.

The precinct targets supply chain businesses with export connections via the Port of Portland – including light industrial and big box retailers.

We helped the development of the precinct through a $2.5 million investment from our Portland Diversification Plan, with funding supporting improvements to site drainage and road access.

These upgrades, which were accompanied by public lighting and design work, connect the precinct to key freight routes, making it more attractive for business.

They continue to enable job creation, investment and development opportunities and are supporting long-term economic growth across Portland and the broader Great South Coast region.

The Precinct’s available land sits on a highly visible, gateway site that offers heavy vehicle access to the Henty Highway (Ring Road) and access to the Port of Portland.

Current tenants include:

  • QuickMix Concrete
  • A2C International Trade’s Portland sawmill
  • Bunnings Warehouse
  • QuickMix Concrete
  • Southern Canning’s seafood processing site
  • The establishment of Portland’s first Bunnings Warehouse in the precinct has brought 50 new jobs, with Bunnings serving as the precinct’s anchor tenant.

A wide range of block sizes are available for potential investors, and there is flexibility to increase existing proposed subdivision.
