The North Geelong Industrial Precinct is an established industrial and logistics hub centred around the city’s northern gateway and includes GeelongPort and surrounding industrial land.
The precinct handles more than 13 million tonnes of cargo annually, including grain, timber, and energy and renewable infrastructure components.
GeelongPort facilitates more than $10 billion worth of trade each year and the surrounding precinct specialises in:
- industrial innovation
- freight and logistics
- clean energy
- maritime and port services.
Current tenants and developments include:
- Cotton On Group’s global headquarters
- FORTEK – a major redevelopment project at the old Ford Australia factory site to unlock industrial land for new tenants
- Pivot City Innovation District’s campus-style industrial site for businesses, cafes and creative spaces
- Midway’s export woodchip mill.
The precinct is also home to the Spirit of Tasmania Terminal.
North Geelong Industrial Precinct is supported by significant freight, rail and road infrastructure that links to national networks and Victoria’s supply chain.
Investment opportunities are available for industrial renewal projects and to cluster innovative businesses for greater collaboration opportunities.
The precinct also offers investors an opportunity to set up close to port operations that provide a platform for clean energy operations – including assembly, logistics and exports. Regional Development Victoria’s Geelong office is based within the Pivot City Innovation District.
